Class One

The Infants class at St Winnow CE School is a purpose built Early Years classroom. It is an exciting, vibrant classroom and the ideal start to school life. Within our infants class we have reception and year one.

Our Early Years teacher is Mrs Morse.

If your child is due to start in reception in September 2010, you are welcome to attend the following:

  1. “Starting School Initial Information” meeting (for parents) – “Parent and Child Open Afternoon” – Monday 21st June @ 1.30pm – 2.30pm
  2. “Join us for lunch” – you and your child are invited to join our school at lunchtime – please bring along a packed lunch for you and your child.  There will be a short time afterwards to explore your new classroom!  – Monday 28th June @ 11.45pm – 1pm (meet in the library)
  3. “Outdoor Fun! With this year’s reception  and Minnows pre-school children.  There will be various outdoor activities for you and your child to participate in.  If wet, this event will be held in the school hall.  Tuesday 6th July @ 10.30am – 11.30am (meet on the school field if dry; our hall if wet)
  4. “Independent visits to your new classroom” – Your child can be left in their new classroom along with this year’s reception children on the following dates:                           Monday 19th July, Tuesday 20th July and Wednesday 21st July from 9.30am until 11.30am
  5. “Meet the Headteacher, Governors and members of the P.T.A” – while your child has their first independent visit in their new classroom why not pop into our library for a cup of tea/coffee, a biscuit and a chat – it will stop you worrying and you will be able to learn more about our school.  Monday 19th July @ 9.30am – 10.30am
  6. 6.      “Assessment, Reading and Phonics Information Meeting” – (for parents) 16th July 9.30am onwards
