School dinner update
Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to our questions about the proposed changes to our school dinners. Most comments were very supportive and there were some great suggestions as to how people would like to see our dream progress. Most agreed that having our own kitchen and staying with the current catering company would be the best first option. Having our own kitchen means that we can supply a menu that sources food locally and gives us more flexibility to include food the children would like.
We are also considering options to involve parents more regularly during our lunchtimes. Class 1 parents were invited in to try the Chinese meal today. Hopefully any who attended enjoyed themselves.
The staff and governors will be investigating the funding needed to run our own kitchen and looking at ways of raising it. We will be contacting other small schools that have their own kitchen to see how they did it and the impact it has had on pupil’s health and wellbeing. Keep reading the newsletters for further updates on this topic.
Thank you all so much for your support. If you have any questions about our future plans regarding our school meals then please do not hesitate to speak to Myra Winch.
Film Club
Film Club news! A big thank you to those that could make Film Club on Tuesday. Hopefully they enjoyed Aardman animation short films, this was shown to highlight Aardman at Eden and also different types of animation made by the creators of Wallace and Gromit. Film Club will return after half term on Wednesdays 3-15 till 4-15. The children have voted to watch Steven Spielbergs “The Goonies”- Unfortunately this brilliant and exciting film has been re-classified as a 12 rating due to one scene in the film. In order to show the film I would need further consent from all attendees parent and carers, so we may put together a one off full screening of the film in order to address this issue (watch this space). So when we come back we will be watching a mystery film (suitable for all ages) and continuing to encourage children to review and rate the films they watch- without these, the club will not continue.
If you are not sure how to enable your child to do this, I am always available during or after the club to speak to parents/carers and explain how the club works. Meanwhile, if your film club member watches any film over the holidays get them to write down or tell you something about the film and we will submit this to www.filmclub.org
Happy Viewing

Please drive slowly outside our school and help keep our community safe!
